Coach Smeltzer is beginning his career with the Sharks this year but he is no stranger to the coaching profession.  He has coached for 32 years- First in the Montgomery, Alabama area and later in schools in the Jacksonville area.  He has over 25 years of head coaching experience.

He is a graduate of Middleburg High School and he played linebacker for the 1987 University of Troy National Championship team.  He is married to his wife, Leslie, and they have one adult child, Kellie.
